MetaCamp May 20 - 24, 2019
Tara and I attended a Disciple Making Camp called MetaCamp this past May with our good friends Paul and Lorie. The instructor was Curtis Sergeant.
Now you may or may not have heard about Curtis and the MetaCamp experience from someone else or on the Internet. You certainly haven't heard about it from me ... yet. If you keep reading you will. If you aren't interested in enriching your Christian life and gaining the insights to some awesome gifts (tools) then click here.
If you are interested but don't want to read through my blog post you can just go to Curtis's website and explore for yourself. Or if you have gone through a MetaCamp course, please leave us a comment about your experience. We would love to read about your experience.
Tara and I are a part of another awesome group of believers called Rose Creek Village. It is a community of people who love God and want to dwell close to on another. We live and work together daily with like minded individuals called disciples. (people who want to practice obeying God and serving others throughout their life) We have chosen to live this life because we want to grow and learn all we can from God and His people. Disciples are people who are sold out to King Jesus and Kingdom Life.
So when the opportunity to learn more about being a disciple came up, we said, "YES, we want to go." We were off to Alabama for a week of immersion in the Word and finding ways to richly develop our longing for obeying God. Little did we know what we were in for!
MetaCamp was a dream come true. We were somewhat overwhelmed with the vast vision of so many people going all over the world to serve in God's mission field. So many more we don't know of but continue to meet every day through the providence of God in our lives. We were also overwhelmed with how little we really know about all God has for us in this life we live.
You would think that by now, after knowing God for almost 40 years, I would not find too much that I am unaware of. Not the case. Who is like our God?! How small am I?! How little do I know?!
Curtis opened the door to a life of extreme (Immediate, Radical, Costly) obedience and a deeper relationship with our King and Master, Jesus. There is so much more that I need to consider for living this life in Christ. There is even more I have yet to understand.
I would encourage you to consider spending a week at MetaCamp. If you think you can do that, check out the 3/3 Manual to see what is covered in the training. If that is too much to think about right now, you could check out the online course called ZUME that he offers to people interested in learning how to be a disciple worth replicating.
Either way, it is worth investing your time to see what God has for you with what Curtis has to offer. I believe you will not be disappointed. Discover a new vision and a refreshing new way to be what God has designed you to be.
